There are so many options out there, website services, daycare, the neighborhood sitter, nanny agencies, etc. The type of child care you choose would, of course, depend on your family’s needs. However, if we look a little closer you can see that there really is only one good, reliable and safe option for your children, the nanny agency.
Nanny agencies provide an array of childcare options. If you need a babysitter, live-in nanny, baby nanny, overnight care, full time family nanny, granny nanny, mommy’s helper, postpartum care, etc. a nanny agency has the resources to connect you with high-quality childcare professionals. Agencies only hire nannies that are qualified and hold to the agency’s standards. Only thing is, how do you know if the agency you’re thinking of going with is really that great at all? Agencies love to talk about how they are the best in the area, but what exactly are they doing that sets them apart? The best way to find out, go straight to their services page. Most of the time, you will find that they look strikingly similar to their competitors offering the usual: babysitting services nanny full-time or part-time care, event services, etc. But sometimes you’ll come across a nanny agency that’s doing it a little differently.
In Jacksonville, there are only a few local nanny agencies to choose from. I did some research into each of them, what services they offer and how they conduct their business. One agency, originating from Gainesville and eventually branching out to the Jacksonville area, was Twinkle Toes. They only offer babysitting services. So if you’re trying to find the perfect nanny, fit specifically and exclusively for your family, they’re probably not the best choice for you. Their rates rage from about $15-$20 an hour, but their nannies are only taking home part of that money as their income. So, the nannies they employ are probably not even the best of the best.
Another agency I investigated was Jax Nanny, also named Advanced Homecare Placements. They offer all of the different services a family might need, which makes them way more comprehensive than the agency aforementioned. However, we still need to look at quality. Yes they have everything, but do their rates and services reflect quality or lack of competition? Up until a few months ago, they were the only local nanny agency that offered that kind of variety, and they’ve been around since the late 90’s. There doesn’t appear to be anything special about what they do. They offer industry standards and that’s all. But is this really everything the largest city in America has to offer? No, in fact, as of this year My Kensington Nanny & Home Services emerged as a new in-home childcare option for Jacksonville families, offering premium nanny services and industry leading screening methods and procedures.
I was surprised to find out that My Kensington Nanny Agency expanded their services to North Florida. Primarily servicing Duval and St Johns counties, My Kensington Nanny is bringing a fresh new perspective to the Jacksonville market. They offer unique services designed specifically to fit your family’s needs and use industry leading screening procedures. Their Nanny Care Plan, for example, is their permanent nanny placement plan that has two options. One is a No-Fee plan that, if qualified, allows you to pay Kensington directly for the services used. While they assume all employment obligations, you get that perfect family nanny you have been looking for. The other option offers Lifetime Replacement for a one-time placement fee. I have never before heard of an agency that has an unlimited, complimentary replacement service. They are definitely next level, and I am so excited they’re here in Jacksonville. This is the Link to their services page on their website, where you can read more about the services they offer. Seriously, check them out because you can’t find services like that anywhere else.
